From 2026 onwards, Foot Drill will no longer be part of the First Aid and Home Nursing Competition. Instead, it will be established as a standalone event under its own category: the Drill Competition. This change aims to provide greater emphasis and focus on each respective component, allowing participants to develop and demonstrate their competencies in a more dedicated and structured setting.
Competitors are strongly encouraged to familiarise themselves with the Standing Orders to ensure full compliance with the rules and regulations of the competition. Failure to adhere to the stipulated guidelines may result in penalties, point deductions, or disqualification.
Participants are expected to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. It is the responsibility of each team to clarify any uncertainties prior to the event and to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values and spirit of the competition.
The size of the parade ground will be standardised to a frontage of 720" (24 x 30") or 18.288m and a depth of 450" (15 x 30") or 11.43m by default unless competition is not able to support this requirement.
A team must consist of One Commander, Six to Twelve Members, and One Reserve (totalling between 8 to 14 cadets)
The Commander and the Reserve must hold at least the rank of Sergeant (SGT).
A participant is considered late and disqualified if they arrive 15 minutes after the registration cut-off. However, if two or more participants are late or absent, the entire team is disqualified.
The total score is 100 points, plus bonus points (if any). Uniform Inspection (Part A) is the average of two judge's scores, and the Drill Sequence (Part B) is the average of three judge's scores.
No. If all Team Members are present, the Reserve is required to perform the entire drill sequence with the rest of the team.
This is strongly discouraged. The NDC Qualifying Round occurs on the same day as the District First Aid and Home Nursing Competition, and the NDC Finals occur on the same day as the National First Aid Competition (NFAC).
No, teams do not need to contribute any stewards for NDC.
